	Shadyville's IMG Marks His Arrival With Sophomore Mixtape

The Mixtape: What IMG lacks in age he makes up for with ambition. The 19-year-old emcee and Syracuse University sophomore is ready to release his new mixtape, *Ain't Nothing To It, and with it, he recognizes this effort as the next step in his budding career. "With this mixtape, there are more songs, less covers, and better rapping," he states matter-of-factly. "I want people to see improvement and hope that those who are already fans are happy to grow with me." IMG's increasingly confident rhymes, paired here with the contributions of DJ Whoo Kid* and DJ Cash, combining forces to host and present the mixtape, should be just the right platform to share the rapper's newly honed skills with the world. The mixtape itself is an official announcement of IMG's arrival and of his intentions to dive head first into the game. Songs like "I'm Takin Over," "One Man Brigade," and "Boy So Nice" might seem self-congratulatory, but there is an underlying witty nature to his lyrics, especially in "Boy So Nice," that reminds the listener that the emcee is both self-aware and has something worth bragging about. A good example of how this effort is a more evolved affair than his last comes on the final track, "I'm A Warrior," which takes on a powerful autobiographical quality. Ain't Nothing To It may be the work of someone still getting their feet wet in the industry, but it feels more like the mixtape of a veteran rapper who knows exactly where he wantes to be and is comfortably on his way to getting there.
