So begins Hell Razah's new single, "Negro Angelitos" (Black Angels), a haunting ballad off of his new record, Heaven Razah, out now via Nature Sounds. Having landed in the hospital in April with a serious health emergency, Razah has re-fashioned himself as a modern day hip-hop prophet, spitting spiritual wisdom about the apocalypse, the presence of demons, mortality, and the afterlife. The song's chorus mirrors Razah's own rise from a place of darkness. Produced by Dev-1, "Negro Angelitos" is grounded in a spooky electric piano and progresses to include a reinforcing string melody, thunder claps and, because it was recorded before Razah's stint in the hospiital, an eerily prophetic chorus.
