The Song:
The lemonade keeps pouring from the Seattle-based duo, Fly Moon Royalty. Last week, singer AdraBoo and producer Action Jackson released the video for "Lemonade," one of the singles off their recently released, self-titled album. The video premiered with OkayPlayer and has since been featured as Afro Punk's Video of the Week, and today, the duo is unveiling Action Jackson's official remix to the song, "Lemonade (Mike's Hard Remix)."
Action Jackson, whose real name is Mike (hence the "Mike's Hard Remix" title), took the vocals from the original song, with the goal of creating a track that is starkly contrasted against the original, while still keeping with the same themes and ideas of the initial track. "The original 'Lemonade' is a fun, light-hearted song. It has an old-timey, Doo-wop sort of feel," explains Action Jackson. "The hip-hop, R&B flavor with synth textures doesn't exist on the original. I wanted to make it a little grimier. Plain and simple."

The
Background:
Originally formed in 2010 in Seattle, Washington, under the name "Sugar Water Purple", AdraBoo and Action Jackson quickly disbanded the name once they discovered that it already existed, which ultimately gave birth to Fly Moon Royalty. Having opened up for Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings and Allen Stone, and drawing comparisons to artists like Janelle MonĂ¡e and Gnarls Barkley, the electro-soul duo is prepared to introduce themselves to the world with their self-titled debut album, Fly Moon Royalty, set for release on February 6th.
