Breaking out in a solo performance for the very first time, Donwill of Tanya Morgan will be on stage at Santo's Partyhouse on Saturday, January 9th. Alongside the energetic performer Homeboy Sandman, and several other artists, Donwill is ringing in 2010 with a beat of his own and a set of lyrics to match. Setting the stage for his new Don Cusack in High Fidelity album, to be released March 2010, Donwill is excited to showcase new material and perform his first solo show in New York.
This album is based on his favorite movie of all time, High Fidelity, starring John Cusack. Donwill says, "I feel that the movie has a lot of parallels to my personal life, so many that I've decided to cast myself in the role of Rob Gordon (Cusack's character) for the duration of this project." The video of the single, "Laura's Song" parallels the basic outline of the film; chiefly Don's roller coaster pursuit and courtship of his former girlfriend with some music snarkiness and cringe-worthy encounters with past flames thrown in the mix.

 Donwill is one-third of hip-hop group Tanya Morgan, formed in 2003, who recently released their third full-length album Brooklynati in 2009. With the high praise from Rolling Stone and Time Out New York that Brooklynati garnered,Donwill is now ready to release his own album, Don Cusack in High Fidelity on March 23rd, 2010. The maxi-single of"“Laura's Song", complete with the album version, radio edit, instrumental and a couple of remixes is now available for purchase on iTunes. The album will be released by Bay Area label Interdependent Media.
