The Video:
September 15th has arrived, and with it comes the release of Seattle emcee D.Black's sophomore album, Ali'Yah. To celebrate the release, D.Black is letting loose two new videos as a special treat for his fans. The first video, a Behind The Scenes Studio Footage video, finds D.Black giving fans an inside look into the recording of the album, including an exclusive interview with Seattle legend Vitamin D, who, along with Jake One, produced a number of the tracks on the album. In the second video, emcee Ra Scion of rising Seattle hip-hop group Common Market, which also consists of Blue Scholar's DJ/producer Sabzi, sits down to discuss D.Black and Ali'Yah. From D.Black's respect within the Seattle hip-hop community, to his artistic ambitions, to the uniqueness of D.Black's style and lyrical content, and much more, Ra Scion breaks down the new album and explains why Ali'Yah is music that music lovers can support. D.Blacks new album, Ali'Yah, is available now via Sportn' Life Records/MYX Music Label.

Be sure to check out "Keep On Going," the first single from D.Black's new album, featuring and produced by Vitamin D. The beat was also recently taken by 50 Cent from an old Vitamin D beat CD and used for the track "London Girl," which is featured on 50 Cent's War Angel LP:

The Background:
Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, D.Black's musical roots are deep, with his mother and father both involved in pioneering hip-hop groups in the Seattle music scene. In 2006, D.Black released his debut album, The Cause & Effect, a huge regional success, allowing the emcee to share the stage with Nas, Freeway, Bun B, Clipse, Paul Wall, The Boot Camp Click, and more. After being mentored by Vitamin D, a staple and veteran of the Seattle hip-hop scene, D.Black began making a name for himself by working on projects with producer Jake One. One such collaboration resulted in D.Black being featured on Jake One's White Van Music, on the track "God Like," helping to cement the Seattle emcee as a household name beyond the Pacific Northwest. Jake One and Vitamin D were also both instrumental in helping D.Black create his new album, offering guidance and production on the record. D.Black's new album, Ali'Yah, is nowavailable everywhere via Sportn' Life Records/MYX Music Label.
