The Song: D.Black once again teams up with producer Jake One to create the next addition to his album Ali' Yah. "Touch the Stars," which serves as the bonus track on the Seattle emcee's forthcoming LP, combines D.Black's soulful flow and inspiring lyrical work and Jake One's epic production with a secret ingredient. Tiffany Wilson's sweet, yet powerful voice is the perfect addition to this track, creating an uplifting sensation as she comes in to sing the chorus. D.Black makes this sensation even more potent with the uplifting message implanted within his own lyrics, while Jake succeeds in taking it a step further with a powerful, also uplifting, musical progression. Speaking on the concept behind the track, D.Black says, "This song was for the brethren who have lacked the power of boldness, to defy the grumbling of a world who is against them and carry out the divine call. The call, to touch stars which sit in the midst of dark skies." D.Black's sophomore album title Ali' Yah is Hebrew for "to ascend."
