The Song:

Few rappers in the game today have the freewheeling, fun-loving vibe of Nef The Pharaoh. Premiered by Billboard, Nef returns with “Back Out,” a jam for the dancefloor and the bedroom. Featuring an exceptionally risqué verse from Ty Dolla $ign, “Back Out” is a lustful meditation from Big Chang Chang over reverb-soaked bells and whistling woodwinds: “I can tell by the look in your eyes babe / you ain’t had a real n*gga in your life aye.” Produced by Architekz, “Back Out” is the second single from The Chang Project, releasing April 28th.

“This is just a fun song for the ladies. I’m more vulgar than Ty so with him on the song, it makes it less offensive, haha. We’ve known each other since my song ‘Big Tymin’ so when I told him I needed him on it, he said to send it over and when he sent back the track, I knew it was a hit,” Nef explains on working with Ty Dolla $ign. “When Architekz played me the beat, I started with the chorus, ‘I got something to blow your back out’ and it just sounded like a jingle to me. And then I built the song around that hook.”

A mischievous post-hyphy superstar with a king-sized personality, Nef The Pharaoh is leading the new wave of Bay Area rap stars. Following a radio smash in 2015’s “Big Tymin’,” his two acclaimed 2016 mixtapes, Neffy Got Wings, a full-length collab with “That Part” producer Cardo, and Fresh Outta Space 3, and a world tour supporting G-Eazy, Nef is ready to transition from regional stardom to national recognition. Nef The Pharaoh Background

Praised by Jeff Weiss as “the best rapper from Vallejo since the last great rapper from Vallejo,” the legendMac Dre being his predecessor, 21 -year-old Nef The Pharaoh is one of the Bay Area’s most exciting young emcees. Signed to E-40‘s Sick Wid It Records, Nef The Pharaoh delivered his debut retail release, a self-titled EP, in November 2015 to high critical praise. Featuring the breakthrough radio hit “Big Tymin’,” which charted at #34 on San Francisco’s 106 KMEL‘s Top 106 Songs of 2015 and earned more than 7.7 million views on YouTube, the Nef The Pharaoh EP firmly established the rapper on the national scene. Nef followed his breakthrough project by joining producer Cardo for Neffy Got Wings, a collaborative EP which released in January, and by accompanying G-Eazy, A$AP Ferg, and Marc E.
