The Song:
HBK Gang ends the year strongly with the release of Skipper’s Wet 2 mixtape and single “That’s My Word” featuring Iamsu! and Dave Steezy. The track, produced by P-Lo of The Invasion, is an energetic track that maintains the smooth and relaxed flow that’s given lead to HBK Gang’s groundbreaking success. When explaining his role in HBK, Skipper explained, “Everybody calls me the secret weapon of the HBK Gang because of my features on “Up,” “Swaggin” and “Go Crazy.” I wanted to make a song to let motherfuckers know what time it is. ‘That’s My Word’ is that wake up call.”
He also elaborated on the creative vision of the project: “‘That’s My Word’ and Wet 2 are really about me embracing who I am. One day everyone (in HBK) was saying I was thirsty because of a comment I left a girl on Instagram and I told them ‘Fuck it, I’m not running from my thirst anymore. Skip for President!’ Nothing’s been the same for me personally since!”
Wet 2 features production from The Invasion, Tha Bizness, Supernaut & Christiamentalz and will be dropping on January 13.
