Hailed by The New York Times as “The funniest rapper working” and selected by 106 KMEL as part of the radio station’s inaugural Freshman 10 class, 24-year-old San Francisco native Roach Gigz has become of the Bay Area’s brightest young stars, covered by outlets like Pitchfork, FADER, XXL, MTV2 Sucker Free, mtvU, and many more. Heavily influenced by Mac Dre and the homegrown hip-hop scene that permeated the Bay Area during the 2000s, Roach has taken a similar approach to his music, telling everyday tales, comical but always true-to-life. Roach Gigz first gained local fame with close friend Lil 4Tay, as one half of the group Bitch I Go (B.I.G.), and since has released two successful Roachy Balboa mixtapes and a debut EP, Bitch, I’m A Player. To date, Roach Gigz has garnered well over five millionYouTube views, amassed over 70,000 Fans on Facebook, and has over 18,000 Followers on Twitter. Now, following the release of Roach’s 2012 album, Bugged Out, and a national tour in 2013 opening for Andre Nickatina, Roach will release Roachy Balboa III, the latest installment in his acclaimed Roachy Balboa mixtape series.
