With an elastic flow and a unique charisma, Nef The Pharaoh is one of the most popular and promising artists in the new wave of Bay Area rap. Demanding his haters to take notice of his victories, Nef stunts on the fun-loving yet intimidating “Bling Blaow.” A towering banger with booming bass and hypnotic multi-tracked vocals on the chorus, “Bling Blaow” demonstrates Nef’s talent for flow artistry and his ability to transform a classic Bay Area beat into something strange and exciting. In the video, premiered by Highsnobiety, Nef displays the regal charisma that inspired his peers to elevate him as a leader of the new Bay Area scene, posing with his bedazzled KILFMB chain, shaking his dreads in a jewelry store, and fearlessly breaking a convenience store’s “No Loitering” policy. Featuring a guest verse from Slimmy B of SOB x RBE and featuring cameos from E-40, OMB Peezy, and other members of SOB x RBE, the Vallejo-set video is stuffed with innovative editing techniques, cutting in still photos and flashy visuals to great effect. Praised by Jeff Weiss as “the best rapper from Vallejo since the last great rapper from Vallejo,” the legendMac Dre being his predecessor, 21 -year-old Nef The Pharaoh is one of the Bay Area’s most exciting young emcees. Signed to E-40‘s Sick Wid It Records, Nef The Pharaoh delivered his debut retail release, a self-titled EP, in November 2015 to high critical praise. Featuring the breakthrough radio hit “Big Tymin’,” which charted at #34 on San Francisco’s 106 KMEL‘s Top 106 Songs of 2015 and earned more than 7.7 million views on YouTube, the Nef The Pharaoh EP firmly established the rapper on the national scene. Nef followed his breakthrough project by joining producer Cardo for Neffy Got Wings, a collaborative EP which released in January, and by accompanying G-Eazy, A$AP Ferg, and Marc E.
