The Show:

Two of today’s biggest rising hip-hop stars, Iamsu! and Sage the Gemini, both of whom are part of the Bay Area rap and creative collective Heartbreak Gang or HBK Gang, are teaming up to co-headline a special all ages HBK Holiday show in New York City’s Highline Ballroom on Wednesday, December 17th. For the past three years, HBK have been building a fervent following and spent much of 2013 releasing multiple projects, touring the West Coast, and seeing their own songs as well as songs with 2 Chainz, E-40, Yo Gotti, and Wiz Khalifa chart on Billboard. Following their sold-out Heartbreak Halloween show in San Francisco at the Regency Ballroom (capacity: 1400)  lucky fans on the East Coast now get a chance to see two of the West Coast’s dominating stars perform the infectious sounds that have been making a splash on radio stations and on social networks across the country.

Sage The Gemini’s platinum-approaching song “Gas Pedal” featuring Iamsu! reached #4 on the Billboard Hip-Hop chart. While his other single “Red Nose, a staple in strip clubs across the country, is quickly catching up, Sage’s debut album, Remember Me, drops early next year.

Meanwhile, Su has been busy churning out hits such as Wiz Khalifa‘s “Bout Me” and 2 Chainz’ “Livin’,” and he headlined two tours. He has also released his KILT II mixtape to rave reviews, which charted #52 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Albums when it was made available for sale on iTunes after it had been released as a free mixtape the previous month.

Sage and Su’s performance will take place at the Highline Ballroom in NYC on December 17th at 8 PM. Tickets are available in advance through the link below. Check Sage and Iamsu! out on the HBK Gang mixtape, Gang Forever, by downloading it on LiveMixtapes or on iTunes. Link below.

Iamsu! Background:

2012 was nothing short of a breakout year for Iamsu! The 22-year-old popped up with a triple-threat performance on LoveRance’s “UP!,” which Su! produced, penned the hook for, and guested on with a scene-stealing verse. The song peaked at number one on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and in the midst of that success, Su! again delivered a fan-favorite verse on a big-time radio single, this time with E-40′s “Function.” Su! followed that success with a solo mixtape, KILT, and the critical acclaim came in droves, as the project was hailed by SPIN as their Rap Release Of The Week, with the outlet also naming Su! as one of their 5 Best New Artists for June ’12. Su!’s been plenty busy since – a west coast tour; a collaborative mixtape with Jay Ant; a standout collaboration with Wiz Khalifa“Bout Me,” that appeared on Khalifa’s Cabin Fever 2 and will also show up on his sophomore album, O.N.I.F.C. Iamsu! released the mixtape $uzy 6 $peed, presented by Bay Area streetwear company Pink Dolphin which released an exclusive t-shirt and hoody for the tape. Iamsu! is back to work already in 2013, with the release of Million Dollar Afro, a collaborative mixtape with Compton rapper Problem. Iamsu! released his new solo mixtape, KILT 2, which is available now on LiveMixtapes, as well as the remastered deluxe edition available via iTunes. More recently, Iamsu! along with his HBK Gang, which includes Sage the Gemini, P-Lo, Kool John, Jay Ant, Skip, Rossi and CJ, released a posse mixtape entitled Gang Forever and headlined a tour to support it as well.

HBK Gang Background:

If you haven’t yet heard of the HBK Gang, it’s time to get acquainted. Producer and rapper Iamsu! is considered one more of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful young independent artists in rap with his hits with E-40 (“Function,”) Wiz Khalifa (“Bout Me,”) 2 Chainz (“Livin’,”) LoveRance (“Up,”) and more. Producer P-Lo (of The Invasion) has the driving force behind the West Coast’s current, radio-dominating sound; he’s produced singles for Yo Gotti (“Act Right”), Wiz Khalifa (“‘Bout Me”), and more; Sage The Gemini has been equally prolific, with the single, “Gas Pedal” and now “Red Nose,” which was certified gold and is charting on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The rest of the crew includes members Skip, Rossi, CJ, Jay Ant, and Kool John, who were all featured on the recently released crew mixtape, Gang Forever
