The EP:

C-Money has had a breakout year in 2014. The Oakland, CA MC has steadily built buzz throughout the latter half of 2014 with his larger-than-life club anthems and over the top personality. The hard work from one of the Bay’s top-ranking prospects has culminated in the release of his first EP, Just 4 You, premiered via HotNewHipHop.

On Just 4 You, C-Money places himself at the forefront of the new and innovative sound coming out of the Bay Area. With artists like HBK Gang’s, IAMSU! and Sage the Gemini making waves throughout the industry, its only right that C-Money cements himself as the region’s next voice. Throughout Just 4 You, C-Money enlists a host of high profile California natives to assist in his vision for house party and strip club domination. From trading bars on the 106 & Park debuted “Play That” with IAMSU! to dominating the party on the Complex premiered “Shut It Down,” which features HBK’s Kool John, C-Money is always the crux that the EP’s guest list orbits around. On “Keep Up,” premiered via Nah Right, C-Money even holds his own alongside the legendary Too $hort. The raucous party anthem is a coronation of sorts and sees C-Money adding to the lineage of bass heavy, party-starting hip-hop that rappers like $hort and E-40 created before him.

Just 4 You is a release born out of C-Money’s troubled past and search for a more creative future. “Oakland is more bad than good,” C-Money explains, adding that “I could have done wrong…Instead, I’m doing this. Music saved my life.” With bombastic singles like “3 Point Stance” and “We Say”, it’s easy to see C-Money has turned his adversity into some of the years most infectious party anthems.

C-Money Background:

With a smooth style and a jovial demeanor, Oakland California rapper, C-Money is easy to get along with. Part of what makes C’s music stand out is his careful balance of lyricism and style. “I have an East Coast flare with a West Coast style,” he describes, citing Wu-Tang Clan and Scarface as primary songwriting influences. “With the punchlines, a lot of artists are just gonna be limited to that. I’m a melodic artist, who rides that beat—so I get both of those. Plus, my sound is catchy.” Like Bay rappers are known for, C-Money’s slapping beats fit the strip club, but between his own catchy choruses, he stuffs the bars with honesty, wisdom, and life—unlike many of today’s rappers—things he’s actually lived.
