The Watts-Born Cult Hero Follows Up Still Summer In The Projects With a Pair of Confrontational and Contagious Bangers, Premiered by The FADER

Critical Praise for 03 Greedo:

“The latest hope of Los Angeles hip-hop”Rolling Stone

The Watts rapper is an essential piece of West Coast rap” – Pitchfork

Los Angeles street-rap weirdo 03 Greedo is one of the most exciting and inventive voices around right now, and he already released one of the best rap albums of the year” – Stereogum

The Songs:

Though 03 Greedo might currently be behind bars, the insanely prolific emcee left behind a massive archive of new music for fans to enjoy while he is away. Sharing two of the hardest-hitting summer jams from his vast archive, Greedo unveils Look B*tch” and Can’t F*ccin’ Believe It, two new bangers. The first single “Look B*tch” is a sumptuous and aggressive new track, finding Greedo spitting confrontational bars atop a cinematic soundscape courtesy of Cardo Got Wings, who lends G-Funk synths, rippling pianos, and his signature block percussion. “Look B*tch” features a memorable guest spot from Greedo’s fellow L.A. rapper Mike Wayne. Produced by Ron-Ron, the second single “Can’t F*ccin Believe It” finds Greedo switching up the production style for a trap-influenced pressure cooker, as he proves with growling rapidfire bars that he could tear up the clubs in Atlanta as easily as he dominates the L.A. airwaves. Premiered by The FADER, “Look B*tch” and “Can’t F*ccin Believe It” are Greedo’s first new tracks since Still Summer In The Projects, his most recent album, produced and executive-produced by Mustard.

Says 03 Greedo: “I made ‘Look B*tch’ with Cardo and ‘Can’t F*ccin Believe It’ with Ron-Ron in about 2017. Cardo hit me on IG and we actually have a whole album called Greedo Got Wings in the cut. I’m waiting to get back to drop that. We have like 8-10 songs done but we’re trying to do like 20 more. Ron-Ron is my number one producer if I’m not making the beat, and when we get together that’s the 03 Greedo sound. For ‘Can’t Fuccin Believe It,’ I wanted to introduce fans who may not know my older work to the 03 Greedo sound. ‘Look Bitch’ was just one of my favorite songs to ride around to while I was out.”

Spanning 11 songs, Still Summer In the Projects displays the versatility and variety typical of a Greedo project, as the Watts native consistently finds the most interesting way to approach executive producer Mustard‘s warm keys and snapping snares. The project features two well-received singles: the Rolling Stone-premiered strip-club anthem “Wasted,” and the Billboard– and The FADER-premiered breezy windows-down jam “Trap House,” which Pitchfork called “a song that should have Greedo’s presence felt this summer.” Featuring appearances from YG, Shoreline Mafia, and TrillianoStill Summer In The Projects is available to stream everywhere via Alamo/Interscope.

Growing up in extreme poverty in the Central L.A. city of Watts, 03 Greedo rose to prominence in late 2017 on the back of cult hits like Mafia Business.” Last year, Greedo’s unique sound reached a national audience, as he flashed his supernatural rhyming ability on the mixtape The Wolf of Grape Street and flexed his artistic muscles on the 27-track God Level, which boasts the Lil Uzi Vert-featuring “Never Bend” (Remix). In April, Greedo released the Noisey-produced documentary Project Genius: The Story of 03 Greedo, which chronicles his rise and his importance to his Watts community.

In March, 03 Greedo and Alamo Records unveiled “#LettersToGreedo,” a new website and social media initiative. Aggregating the best posts by Greedo fans who use the hashtag #LettersToGreedo on their social media posts, the new website is a testament to the passion of fans of Greedo, who is currently serving a prison sentence in Amarillo, Texas. A select few of the most passionate and creative #LettersToGreedo posters will earn an audio response from Greedo himself. Fans will also have the ability to submit audio or text directly to the website, and will be able to leave messages for Greedo at tel:432-216-2294. Promoted by Greedo’s artistic peers, including YGMustard, and OhGeesy of Shoreline Mafia, and arriving with two new pieces of 03 Greedo merchandise, #LettersToGreedo is currently accepting submissions.
