The Album:

A pioneer of the new Atlanta sound, Yung Ralph releases his album I Am Juugman, a project presented by DJ Greg Street, DJ MLK, and Swamp Izzo. “My role in Atlanta music has been to uplift the ones going through the struggle,” the rapper told The FADER in their premiere of the album. “To deliver the message that no matter how hard it gets you can make it happen, just don’t quit. I learned what’s up can come down and what’s down can come up in this game, so remember it never happens when you want it to, only when it’s time to. With the I Am Juugman project I’m just reaching back out to my loyal fans and supporters letting them know that it’s been a long time coming. Everybody don’t get a second chance to do it bigger than the first time, so this project is a lil snack for my fans and a reminder that the Juugman aka Yung Ralph is still here. And it’s also just the beginning of a new beginning.”

The underground king Yung Ralph has been garnering mainstream attention in recent months for the Fetty Wap-assisted “Act A Fool,” with the audio debuting on The FADER and the video on WorldStarHipHop, and also his Young Thug collab “Bands” which premiered via Noisey. The ATL emcee’s inimitable voice and heavy sound has helped him gain traction for his latest album, with HotNewHipHop saying that Yung Ralph “is one to look out for… as he boasts a unique, gritty flow.” For many, including Kevin Gates, it’s Yung Ralph’s rhymes that stick. Yung Ralph’s lyrics are genuine, honest, and impactful, filled with gems share a story of someone that’s dealt with a significant amount struggles and successes, with humility and loyalty being his pillars for life – as is evident in “Everyday” which was debuted on Passion of the Weiss.

Yung Ralph first turned heads with his regional hit “Look Like Money” in 2007 via Universal Republic. A frequent collaborator of Gucci Mane and Zaytoven at the time, a short list of highlights to follow includes having teamed up with Nicki Minaj in 2010 for “I Bought That,” releasing his Juugin’ Round the City mixtape in 2013, and most recently being featured on Rich Gang’s “Ridin” as well as Young Thug‘s Slime Season stand-out “Rarri” – Thugger actually shouts him out on “Stoner” with the lyric “I’m back at it, Juugman voice,” in reference to Yung Ralph’s “Back At It” single. His newest album, I Am Juugman, is now available for stream and purchase.
