Singles: wifisfuneral – “Friday Take” & “Glock Case”

The Rich Life Ringleader Drops His Fifth Single Since Releasing Boy Who Cried Wolf Two Months Ago

9.22.2017

Critical Praise:

[wifisfuneral] displays an impressive array of verbal acrobatics, showing off masterful breath control and a rapid fire flow.”  Pitchfork

“‘It Don’t Matter’ puts Wifisfuneral over a raucous, Robb Bank$-produced beat, with keys straight out of a science fiction film. He raps about women, drugs, being fearless, and most importantly, ignoring people who talk too much. Never get too wrapped up in the naysayers and the time wasters; they’ll never help you be great. The song is visceral, it gets to point, and it should be played as loudly as possible.” – NOISEY

“The young rapper has a wide range of skills, from agile raps and bass-heavy tracks to dark and moody slow-burners, and his unpredictability is part of his appeal” Pigeons & Planes

The Songs:

South Florida rapper wifisfuneral is known for his prodigious talent and prolific output of music. After leaking his major label debut mixtape Boy Who Cried Wolf on August 1st, wifi has released five singles to keep his buzz white hot. Late last night, the 20-year old dropped two new tracks: the frenetic, rapid fire “Glock Case” and the bouncy, sinister “Friday Take.” Both songs were produced by Cris Dinero, wifi’s current go-to producer who helmed the bulk of Boy Who Cried Wolf. With his relentless work ethic and two songs on Spotify’s Most Necessary playlist (“wya? (Remix)” featuring Ugly God and “Jackie Chan“), wifisfuneral’s name is a ubiquitous fixture in rap’s current landscape. Up next for him is the nationwide Boy Who Cried Wolf Tour, which starts this Saturday at A3C in Atlanta. Joining him on tour are members of his Rich Life Crew, including Dinero, Danny Towers458Keez, and DJ Yazmine. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.wifisfuneral.com/.

One of the more quietly successful artists in a burgeoning South Florida rap scene that has emerged into the mainstream, wifisfuneral cemented his status as a bonafide national star with his Boy Who Cried Wolf mixtape. Featuring previously released singles such as the Joe Budden-cosigned “JoeBuddenProbablyThinksICantRap 🙁, the slyly self-aware “lil jeff hardy >:-),” and the posse cut “Centerfold,” which have earned more than 2 million combined plays on SoundCloud, Boy Who Cried Wolf is the next step in wifi’s evolution as an artist. The mixtape is wifi’s second project of 2017, following When Hell Falls, which debuted at #17 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Chart and preceded a successful SXSW where he caught the attention of Todd Moscowitz, who signed him to his new venture Alamo/Interscope. Since signing with Alamo, wifisfuneral unleashed a barrage of high quality loose singles like “Run It Up,” which features an appearance from wifi’s labelmate Smokepurpp, and the 808 Mafia-produced, Pigeons & Planes-premiered 2 Step,” previously on Spotify’s Most Necessary playlist. Earlier this year, wifi performed at Rolling Loud festival in Miami and toured Europe with popular Taiwanese rapper Keith Ape.
