The Song:

Getting the first crack at the finest beats from the Internet Money collective, 17-year-old Jacksonville emcee Babyface Kaedo has the makings of a star. Flashing a rapidfire flow and transforming his voice into an unhinged growl, Babyface Kaedo radiates menace in Gun Play,” his latest single. Ruthlessly attacking an aqueous and cavernous piano-led production by Taz Taylor & E-Trou, Kaedo mounts up for his next heist in “Gun Play,” stacking quick-witted bars throughout the song’s lightning-quick runtime: “Don’t want no action, start that cappin’, we like gunplay/He live on a dead end, he got one-wayed.” Premiered by ELEVATOR, who raved “the track is sure to have your neck snapping in no time,” “Gun Play” follows the absorbing “Balenci,” the relentless “No Fakin,” and the bouncy Pikachu,” produced by Internet Money’s beatmaking prodigy Nick Mira, best known for producing many of the tracks on Juice WRLD‘s Goodbye & Good Riddance albumincluding the Billboard Top 5 hit “Lucid Dreams.”

The latest upstart from a bustling Florida rap scene, which produced artists such as Kodak Black, Babyface Kaedo rose out of his notoriously rough Jacksonville neighborhood with his preternatural rhyming ability and confident mic presence. Growing up in his grandmother’s house with a wild streak that got him into trouble, Kaedo witnessed a close friend and classmate lose his life in a shooting at a J’ville bus stop. Haunted by the experience and with newfound dedication to keep his name out of the obituaries page, for his family’s sake, started rapping, taking on neighborhood figure Camo Jack as a mentor. His unique style quickly found a fan in Taz Taylor, the rising producer and entrepreneur behind the Internet Money company and production collective.

Babyface Kaedo is one of the first signees to Internet Money Records, the new partnership between rising producer Taz Taylor and Alamo Records/Interscope. A game-changing company in digital music, Taz Taylor started Internet Money as a beat-making company and collective through which producers could make beats and sell them a-la-carte to artists. As Internet Money grew, Taz Taylor became a well-respected songwriter and producer, signing a publishing deal with APG, shaping the sound of countless rising stars, producing four tracks on Lil Skies’ chart-topping Life of a Dark Rose, crafting the instrumental for XXXTentacion’s platinum-selling “Fuck Love” featuring Trippie Redd, and reaching #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Rich The Kid’s “Plug Walk.”
