Critical Praise for Stick Figure:

“Say hello again to one of the most exciting bands in the reggae world…” – This Song Is Sick

“Reggae is always there for us. Like a giant, warm, tie-dye hemp blanket waiting to smother us in positive energy and lift our spirits. Stick Figure’s latest track, titled ‘Smokin’ Love,’ does exactly that.” – Indie Shuffle

“American roots-reggae/dub band Stick Figure is rocking Billboard’s Digital Reggae Singles chart.”Jamaica Observer

“The music of Stick Figure is taking Roots Reggae Dub to new heights.” – Branch Out Music

The Song:

Following the success of his “Smokin’ Love” single with Collie Buddz, which is upward of 800K spins on SoundCloud, and having concluded the Livin’ It Fall Tour in October, Scott Woodruff aka Stick Figure has been back in the studio making new music and remixing hits with his SoCal via Boston spin. Composing the first reggae remix of Sam Smith‘s massive pop ballad, “Stay With Me,” Stick Figure updates the undeniable melody of the original track and in the process improves upon the source material.

The “Stay With Me” (Stick Remix) debuted via Good Music All Day, where they state that “in his version of the single, [Stick Figure] adopts Smith’s vocals while adding the deep, pulsating bass and bouncy percussion that you’d hope for.” Hearing Smith behind roots reggae instrumentation is a nice change of pace, as Stick Figure does a phenomenal job of never letting the reggae influence overwhelm the sheer power of Smith’s singing voice.

Earlier this month, SoundCloud feature Stick Figure in first interview of their new series, Meet On SoundCloud. Speaking on his creative process, Stick Figure tells SoundCloud: “It all starts with a feeling I draw from my experiences out on the road and in this world. I try to capture that feeling back in my studio at home. I have every instrument in my studio and they all play their role in the finished product. I’ll jump from the keyboard over to the bass and back to the drums until everything is perfect. I feel most in my element when turning these feelings that everyone has into music everyone can experience.”

Stick Figure has just added more dates to The Livin’ It Tour, which is the group’s first headlining tour. The new dates are added below.

Stick Figure Background:

Southern California Roots Reggae favorites Stick Figure, are one of the few acts that are able to consistently reinvent themselves in the Reggae world. Stylistically unique, the band is able to build on their Reggae and Dub influences while creating a style completely their own. Multi-instrumentalist, producer and front man Scott Woodruff, fathered the group and is noted for his innovative style of recording; individually playing each instrument and multi-tracking them in unison. His touring band features Kevin Bong (Keyboards), Kevin Offitzer (Drums) and Tommy Suliman (Bass) and have played along side the likes of SOJACollie Buddz, Alpha Blondy and The Expendables. Having 5 full-length albums, selling over 50,000 albums worldwide and charting #1 on both the Reggae ITunes and Billboard charts the band shows no signs of stopping any time soon. Stick Figure kicks off the summer with the June 3rd release of “Smokin’ Love” a feel good anthem featuring Collie Buddz and will be hitting the road with Rebelution for their “Count Me In” tour, along side Reggae favorites Iration and The Green.
