Ralo Recruits ATL’s A-List for Famerican Gangster 2, Releasing February 12th

The FamGoon Czar Escapes the Law, Joins Forces with Future in the Billboard-Premiered Video for “My Brothers”

Critical Praise for Ralo:

“With “My Brothers,” Ralo shows the full range of his improvements since his last project, displaying a new mastery of his own flow that should be enough evidence of his potential star power.” Noisey

The Announcement:

A helium-voiced gangster with the respect and admiration of the streets, Ralo is the latest in a long line of ascendant Atlanta trap stars. Bringing out the hottest rappers in his hometown and abroad for his latest project, Ralo demonstrates his growth as an artist with Famerican Gangster 2, a sequel to Famerican Gangster, his introduction to the music industry. In 2015, Ralo emerged from prison a changed man, having sworn off violence and converted to Islam. In his early-20s with the voice and perspective of a wizened vet, Ralo writes aggressive and reflective trap with a message, aimed at shining a light on his experiences and educating the streets. Featuring appearances from Gucci Mane, Future, Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, Birdman, YFN Lucci, Shy Glizzy and RT Skool Boi and production from ZaytovenSouthsideCassius Jay, Frank Forbes, and more, Famerican Gangster 2, out February 12th, is the first major Atlanta trap event of 2017.

Famerian Gangster 2 is the proper sequel to last year’s acclaimed Diary of the Streets II. An accomplished album stocked with trap bangers with a strong melodic element and personal and introspective lyrics, DOTS 2 spawned several successful singles, including the all-star stocked, Complex-premiered Flexing On Purpose,” featuring Young Thug, 21 Savage, and a hook and verse from Lil Uzi Vert, the somber, the confessional “Showers in the Dark,” and the somber, Young Scooter-featuring video for “Survivor.” Also in 2016, Ralo appeared alongside Lil Durk and YSL Duke on Young Thug’s “My Boys,” and saluted a Cash Money icon in his “Letter to Birdman.” Born and raised in a notoriously rough Atlanta neighborhood known as The Bluff, Ralo is the founder of a gang turned community organization and movement called “Famerican,” dedicated to helping spread positivity in the streets.

FamGoon and Free Bandz connect on “My Brothers,” Ralo’s video for the Famerican Gangster bonus track. Featuring Future and produced by Southside of 808 Mafia, “My brothers” is a haunting, propulsive banger dedicated to Ralo’s closest associates, with Ralo and Future swapping infectious rhythmic catchphrases on the hook. Originally released last summer, “My Brothers” premiered in Noisey, who called the track  alongside a lengthy, revealing Q&A with Ralo. The dramatic, Atlanta-filmed video finds Ralo and Future on the lam from the law, racing through the forest until they find refuge with their gangs. Premiered today by Billboard, “My Brothers” is a exuberant tour of Ralo’s Atlanta and a showcase of their chemistry and shared charisma.

Explained Ralo to Noisey: “My brother (Future) and I were in the studio and he was saying ‘I got you Ralo, you my brother for life, blood can’t separate our bond.’ And I feel the same. ‘I’ll kill for you if I have to,’ I said. The difference between ‘My Brothers’ and others records I’ve done with Future is that on the other songs, we talked mainly talked about getting money and females. For this record, we connected about our bond and friendship.”
