With 2011 winding down, ZAKEE's recently released and very much genre-bending album, Assimilations, continues to draw critical acclaim, and with that praise, ZAKEE has been offering fans a healthy serving of new content and material. With a remix for "Shadow" still forthcoming, along with a video for "Double Up," ZAKEE is excited to release the latest visual from Assimilations, for the fan-favorite single "Push The Power."
The video, directed by Joey Angerone and ZAKEE, was shot in Captiva Island, Jamaica, Los Angeles, and Brooklyn, and for ZAKEE, the video was all about having fun. "I wanted to create something youthful and cool, where you would just have a huge smile on your face like a little kid," explains ZAKEE on the feel-good nature of the video. "My idea of pushing the power of love is just being around the most amazing folks in your life, laughing and just dreaming together."
In other news, ZAKEE recently sat down with Rhapsody, to take part in their ongoing Producer's Corner series. Shot on location at Min Max Studio in New York, where ZAKEE recorded a majority of Assimilations, the two clips feature ZAKEE recounting his days as a high school teacher recording GarageBand tracks in the school bathrooms, his work with Rye-Rye and M.I.A, the creation of his new album, and much more.

Background:
ZAKEE is a Philadelphia born-and-bred triple threat (songwriter, producer and artist). After receiving a dual degree in mathematics and computer engineering at Howard University, ZAKEE decided to focus on his craft and began to work alongside artists like M.I.A., The Very Best, and Rye-Rye, most notably on the track, "Gangsta Girl" for NBC's Friday Night Lights, which earned the artist a Rolling Stone nomination for Number 1 Artist to Watch. Dazed and Confused named ZAKEE "King of Ku Ku Bass" and he's toured with some of the greatest musicians in the world, such as The Roots, Erykah Badu, M.I.A. and Seun Kuti. ZAKEE has just released his latest project and debut album as an artist, Assimilations, on September 13th via Green Owl Records/ Warner Music Group.
