Critical Praise For Warm Weather:

Best Albums of 2011 (Dances)I Guess I’m Floating

"Warm Weather is a still-wet-behind-the-ears outfit outta Los Angeles who play kaleidoscopic indie rock replete with vocal harmonies that will have fans of running the spectrum from The Beach Boys to Grizzly Bear snapping their fingers in approval."My Old Kentucky Blog

"Warm Weather are exactly what you want them to be – a dancey synth pop LA based band with plenty of boyish charm and heart-crushing soaring harmonies." Listen Before You Buy

(Brooklyn, NY – April 11, 2012) Warm Weather came together much like kids on Christmas morning – they were so excited about making music that they couldn’t wait for a studio session or even proper equipment. While still en route to their new Hollywood home, the three recent college grads plugged in a Yamaha synthesizer into a cassette deck, whipped out a guitar, and started creating on the road.

That road trip not only established Warm Weather as a band, but also produced the material that the boys used for their first EP, Dances, which was released last June. After garnering collectively high praise for Dances, Justin Lerman, Ryan Pollie, and Brendan Lynch-Salamon digitally released their follow-up EP, Looking Through, in January 2012. Now, the trio is embarking on another road trip, this time for their first east coast tour, which begins this May.

With their sonic roots in collegiate acapella groups, Warm Weather has been compared to bands like Fleet Foxes and The Beach Boys in regard to their calculated harmonizing and whimsical lyrics. Their tropical-beat rhythms on “So Far/Vertigo” exemplify how they stretch the genre of indie rock while maintaining a technical aspect to their vocals; it also led music blog I Guess I’m Floating to proclaim Dances as one of the best albums of 2011.

Thanks to their fan-funded Kickstarter campaign, the trio has raised enough money to, as they advertised it, “bring Warm Weather to the east coast.” So far, they will be making eight stops on the tour, including one at Ryan’s alma mater, Bates, and one at Justin and Brendan’s alma mater, Dartmouth, along with stops in venerated venues like Pianos (NYC) and The Middle East (Boston). Be on the look out for more dates to be announced shortly.

The Background:

Growing up together just outside of Philadelphia, Justin Lerman and Ryan Pollie have been making music almost as long as they've known each other. Ryan attended Bates College in Maine, where he received a degree in music. Justin went to Dartmouth College, where he met Brendan Lynch-Salamon, a fellow a cappella singer with the Dartmouth Aires. Before meeting face-to-face, the guys traded demos and decided to move to Los Angeles. They released their first EP, Dances, in June 2011, and it received universally positive press, heralded as one of the best albums of 2011 by I Guess I'm Floating. In early 2012, Warm Weather released a follow-up EP, Looking Through. The trio will be on tour throughout the year in support of both EPs.
