(March 20, 2012 - Brooklyn, NY) Premier entertainment marketing and publicity firm Audible Treats is excited to announce the success of their Third Annual Official SXSW Hip-Hop Showcase. The event, which was sponsored by media entities HipHopDX and PrettyMuchAmazing, featured some of hip-hop's finest, including legacy acts Talib Kweli and Souls of Mischief, as well as Dallas media darlings A.Dd+, prolific producer and singer Georgia Anne Muldrow, Bay-Area based rappers Roach Gigz and Moe Green, and many more. The 6-hour showcase took place in front a packed house at Kiss N' Fly on Thursday night and featured major giveaways and surprise guests, along with DJ sets from Rapid Ric and 4th Pyramid.
As fans made their way into the venue, stopping to takes pictures at the special, pop-up photo booth provided by Lightworks, the showcase opened with strong sets from recent Sub Pop signees THESatisfaction and Little Rock rapper SL Jones. Up next were the first two surprise performers of the evening, Detroit’s Boldy James and the captivating Mistah FAB, followed by an equally hype surprise set from Brooklyn’s buzzing trio Flatbush Zombies and performances from L.E.P. Bogus Boys, Moe Green, and Roach Gigz.
According to the Village Voice, it was Dallas' own A.Dd+ who stole the early portion of the show, mesmerizing and energizing the crowd with the duo’s dynamic presence. By the end of their set, Paris Pershun and Slim Gravy had the crowd chanting their signature phrase “ADd Hoe!” Closing the show were Georgia Anne Muldrow, who performed songs from her upcoming album with Madlib entitled Seeds, Talib Kweli, and, finally, the legendary Souls Of Mischief, who brought a fitting close to the show, performing a variety of hits from a catalog spanning nearly two decades.
