The Album:
(Brooklyn, NY - September 20, 2010) Available on all digital music outlets and CD on October 26th from Artists' Addiction Records, Stomp The Yard: Homecoming Motion Picture Soundtrackreturns audiences to the yard of Truth University for the all new, explosive, high energy drama. The soundtrack features new music from Ace Hood, John Forte, Short Dawg, Mr. Robotic, and many others! This soundtrack and movie sequel to the $75MM box office hit and 100,000+ album soundtrack sales follows Chance Harris (Collins Pennie, Fame, TV’s “Hawthorne”) as he looks to find a balance between his school, work, relationships and the opportunity to perform at the nationally televised step competition during homecoming weekend. The movie, Stomp The Yard: Homecoming will be available for purchase on September 21st in two formats; Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack and DVD from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
All songs on the soundtrack reflect the energy and excitement inherent in the movie. Says Young Money rapper Short Dawg, whose track “Get Ya Money Up” is featured on the soundtrack, “I thought it was a great concept because I grew up where sororities and fraternities were super popular, so it took me back to my days of school and showed me a different perspective from the experience I had. I’m honored to be part of such a great project.”
Movie Synopsis:
In the countdown to a national step-off, rivalries at Truth University run red hot. The Theta Nus are counting on new pledge Chance Harris (Collins Pennie) to lead the team to victory. But he’s too caught up in his own problems to focus. At odds with his father, caught up in romantic troubles and targeted by a street gang for an unpaid debt, Chance must decide what is truly important and make the choices that will shape his life. Stomp the Yard: Homecoming unites a powerful cast featuring Terrence J and Pooch Hall with a soundtrack packed with pulse-pounding tracks. Directed by Rob Hardy (The Gospel), Stomp the Yard: Homecoming is from a story by Albert Leon and a screenplay by Albert Leon and Meena Payne. Columbus Short served as executive producer, with William Packer producing.
