	Sophomore Album To Released June 11; "Don't Have You" Is First Single

(March 20th, 2012 – Brooklyn, NY) Steven A. Clark is excited to announce the release date for his forthcoming album, *Fornication Under Consent of the King. The album, which serves as a follow-up to the North Carolina native's debut project, STRIPES, will be released June 11th* via L&E Media Co. To celebrate the announcement, Steven is releasing the album's lead-single, "Don't Have You." Fornication Under Consent of the King is the sophomore release from Steven A. Clark. In 2011, Steven released his eight track LP, STRIPES, to rave reviews including the honor of being awarded "Miami's Best Independent Album of 2011" by Miami-based hip-hop site The305.com. The young R&B singer, alongside Toronto's The Weeknd and New Orleans' Frank Ocean, fills a void as an R&B newcomer who brings a much-needed fresh sound to the genre. Citing The Neptunes, Sade & Boyz II Men as a few of his influences, Steven dives into his personal life through honest lyrics and self-production. Steven recorded his new album over a four-month period in his current hometown of Miami. "There was no TV, no internet, no hot water," Clark explains, "Just me, my equipment, and a futon." The title of Steven's album, Fornication Under Consent of the King, has an interesting acronym and story behind it. "I thought it would be an interesting title," says the singer, "It's a word I use when I'm unhappy with the way things are...F.ornication U.nder C.onsent of the K.ing would be a wittier and less offensive way of making the same association to the word and the music." Although the singer handles most of the production duties, Steven receives additional production from frequent collaborator Mr. Familiar (Yelawolf, Solange) who also produced for Clark on STRIPES. Steven enlisted native Miamians rapper J. Nics, and singer/songwriter Albert Vargas for guest features on the project. "I only really wanted to work with my friends on this project," Clark explains, "They all just happen to be super talented." The lead-off single from Fornication Under Consent of the King, is "Don't Have You." The song includes live guitar from Writesounds, and is a confession to an unnamed female that Clark remarks as very personal. "The hardest part was writing the lyrics, just too personal," Steven explains, "Every line in the song enhances the mood...the line 'fuck, I need another drink' expresses how tough it was to write."
