(March 26, 2012 - Brooklyn, NY) Rapper Soul King, is excited to announce the release of his new album, Supreme Era Vol. 2. The album, a follow-up to his 2010 release, Supreme Era Vol. 1, is out now on Noor Science/Clear Label Records and boasts features from Planet Asia, Chace Infinite and more.

Supreme Era Vol. 2 draws its name not only from Soul King's skills behind the microphone, but also from the inspiration that SoulKing pulls from above. "Supreme means the best or most high," he explains, "so going into the project I wanted to represent this movement we call 'God Hop,' but from the West Coast." For Soul King, his music is a crusade for hip-hop, for, as he says, "The B-Boys and B-Girls who gave their lives to master the art. We have to fight to preserve the culture."

With Supreme Era Vol. 2, Soul King practices what he preaches to the fullest, with standouts like recent single "Black Caesar," a song that features respected Left Coast lyricists Planet Asia and Styliztic Jonez, and "Teach The Truth," a song that features the MC's wife and son, a track that SK likens to the classic Brand Nubian song "Wake Up." "That song," he explains, "is a wake up call for us to continue to do our duty even when it's not popular. We don't want the truth to die with us."

Artistically, Supreme Era Vol. 2 shows plenty of progression, and that improvement is something that SK cites to the influence and assistance of two well-respected West Coast veterans. "I learned a lot from my brothers Chase Infinite of Self Scientific, Krondon of Strong Arm Steady, and Tabernacle MCZ," notes Soul King. "I felt more comfortable and creative and had more of a definiteve purpose with the album."

Soul King isn't the only one taking note of his recent artistic growth; industry veteran Walasia 'MJ' Shabazz is pushing Supreme Era Vol. 2 as the debut release from her newly formed label, Noor Science. "I chose Soul King as the debut artist for my first label venture," remarks Walasia, "because he's one of my favorite MCs, and has been since the days of the Barbershop MC's, a crew that included SK and Phil The Agony."
