The
Video:
It's hard out there for a kid, according to the video for JD Era's single, "Change." The song's video treatment matches the call-to-arms consciousness from JD's featured track on Real Frequency's compilation album, The New North, which JD describes as "historic" in his behind-the-scenes video interview and is now available for sale, digitally through all major retailers and with physical copies available through Real Frequency's Bandcamp page. The message of the track is reflected in the video's main character: an Average Joey, a typical kid just trying to get by without getting bogged down by life's obstacles. While dodging everyday evils like girl problems, bullies, and drugs, he finds solace in his headphones that contain LOKZ' soulful hook and JD Era's inspiring lyrics.

Real Frequency
Background:
Real Frequency grew from a humble foundation, becoming one of Toronto's most loved radio shows, and the first all-hip-hop show on Canada's first commercial urban radio station, FLOW 93.5FM. The show's popular New North segment, which launched back in 2008 as a quarterly month long occurrence became a mainstay for featuring new, up-and-coming artists, and while the radio show has since shut down operation, due to its parent company being sold, the idea lives on with The New North album. Being released by the Real Frequency crew, comprised of Muziklee Inzane, Arcee, and P-Plus, The New North carries on the tradition that began with the radio show, bringing together over 30 artists, including rappers, singers, producers, and DJ's, and featuring some of Toronto's finest up-and-coming talent, including the likes of Shad, Kardinal Offishall, Marco Polo, Moss, Tona, Boi-1-Da, Rich Kidd, Frank Dukes, Richie Sosa, and many more. The Real Frequency's The New North is out now, available for purchase through all digital retailers.
