Critical Praise for Rah Digga:
"After 10 years of waiting, Rah Digga proves she is a veteran who can stand alone - in her class as well as on the microphone. Classic manages to mesh the best elements of the year 2000's hip-hop with the highlights of the musical trends of today."
- HipHopDX
"Rah Digga doesn't show much patience for introspection. But what Classic lacks in subtlety, it makes up in rowdy exultation." - SPIN
(February 15, 2011 – Brooklyn, NY) Rah Digga is excited to announce her upcoming show, Ladies First, at Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY. The show, taking place Thursday, February 24th, will be Digga's first headlining performance in NYC in some time, and she will be joined by performances from Eternia, Nitty Scott MC, Likwuid, Zarinah, and Kalae Allday. Tickets for the event are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show.
For Digga, this upcoming show date offers the perfect opportunity for her to show off her brand new secret weapon: her live band. "This is my first show in New York with the band, so I'm really excited about that," says Digga. "It's been a long time since people have seen a Digga show, so I wanted to make sure the audience is truly entertained. Plus, I'm into live bands, anyway -- it offers fans a much more sophisticated experience."
In addition to the upcoming show, Digga is also releasing the latest remix from Classic, her highly-acclaimed, Nottz-produced sophomore album released in the fall of last year via Raw Koncept Media Group. The track, "Check Me Boo (9th Still Checkin' Remix)," is 9th Wonder's own take on the fan favorite "Check Me Boo." While, as with previous Digga remixes from the likes of Khrysis and others, the lyrics remain untouched, 9th Wonder brings a new feel musically, with understated soulful boom-bap to match the forceful lyrics and contrast Nottz' heavy drums, deep bass, and organs.

The Background:
New Jersey native Rashia Fisher, better known as Rah Digga, first dedicated herself to rhyme in the mid-1990s, becoming part of the New York battle-rap scene. She soon acquired a reputation that caught the attention of Q-Tip, the outspoken member of A Tribe Called Quest, who introduced her to Busta Rhymes, then making her First Lady of Busta's Flipmode Squad. Since then, Digga has linked up with producer Nottz for her new album, Classic, via Raw Koncept Media Group. "I wasn't created by a label. I am a natural born talent that broke into the industry based on my ability to rhyme and that's what people will always expect from me." Truer words never spoken.
