Digga And Khrysis Partner For Latest Remix From Classic
Critical Praise for Rah Digga:
"After 10 years of waiting, Rah Digga proves she is a veteran who can stand alone - in her class as well as on the microphone. Classic manages to mesh the best elements of the year 2000's hip-hop with the highlights of the musical trends of today."
- HipHopDX
"Rah Digga doesn't show much patience for introspection. But what Classic lacks in subtlety, it makes up in rowdy exultation." - SPIN
The
Song:
With a Los Angeles performance last night and "Straight Spittin' 4.5" still fresh in listeners' ears, Rah Digga is right back to work, dropping the latest remix from Classic, her highly lauded sophomore album released late last year. This remix, for the song "Solidified," finds the Jersey representative teaming up with North Carolina producer Khrysis, who, in addition to making up one half of the group The Away Team, has worked with artists including Little Brother, Skyzoo, Jean Grae, Sean Price, Masta Ace, and more.
While the vocals remain in tact for this particular remix, Khrysis breathes new life into the song. While the original, produced by Nottz, who handled production duties for the entirety of Classic, features a smattering of funk guitar chops, rolling bass, and syncopated drums, Khrysis gives the song a more pronounced backbeat, utilizing a mix of piano chops, synths, and steady drums, all the while allowing Digga's lyrics shine.

The Background:
New Jersey native Rashia Fisher, better known as Rah Digga, first dedicated herself to rhyme in the mid-1990s, becoming part of the New York battle-rap scene. She soon acquired a reputation that caught the attention of Q-Tip, the outspoken member of A Tribe Called Quest, who introduced her to Busta Rhymes, then making her First Lady of Busta's Flipmode Squad. Since then, Digga has linked up with producer Nottz for her new album, Classic, via Raw Koncept Media Group. "I wasn't created by a label. I am a natural born talent that broke into the industry based on my ability to rhyme and that's what people will always expect from me." Truer words never spoken.
