Opio and MySpace Throw Fans A Free Album Release Party In San Francisco

Souls of Mischief emcee performs to celebrate release of sophomore album
(Brooklyn, NY - August 21, 2008) Opio, member of the classic hip-hop group Souls of Mischief, will team up with MySpace to bring fans a free concert in celebration of the release of his sophomore solo album Vulture's Wisdom, Vol. 1. The show will take place at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco on August 26, 2008. The show is free, first come first serve, and 21+ with a photo id. Doors open at 8:00.
MySpace and Opio previously teamed up to offer fans a sneak preview album listening party in July. Fans streamed the entirety of Vulture's Wisdom, Vol. 1 from Opio's MySpace page. MySpace also featured Opio on the main music homepage, resulting in well over one hundred thousand views of his profile. For the MySpace release party Opio will be joined on stage by a roster of Hiero-affiliated up and comers including DJ Lex, Tre Styles, League 510, and JC.
As a teen, Opio hooked up with local rappers Tajai and A-Plus, whom he met through Casual, another emcee who was Opio's classmate and neighbor. The three instantly clicked and began recording together, soon adding fourth emcee Phesto Dee, to form the group Souls of Mischief. Together with Del the Funky Homosapien, Casual, Domino, and Pep Love, the legendary crew Hieroglyphics was born. Opio has always done double duty for Hiero as both an emcee and producer. Opio's recent production credits include the track "Naked Funk" from Del The Funky Homosapien's recent 11th Hour. Despite many group releases with Souls and Hieroglyphics, it took twelve years for Opio's first solo effort to come out. After working on it for two years, Opio released Triangulation Station in 2005 and moved over 20,000 units. Vulture's Wisdom, Vol.1 is in store now on Hiero Imperium records.

The Background:
