Background:
Though their career paths have always intertwined, Neek the Exotic and Large Professor’s Still on the Hustle marks the first true collaboration in both legends’ long, eclectic oeuvre. Large Professor earned his place in the pantheon of hip-hop heavyweights by founding Main Source and producing songs for Nas' Illmatic and Kool G Rap's Wanted Dead or Alive. It wasn't until he joined forces with Neek on 1992's White Men Can't Jump soundtrack that both artists were launched into the global spotlight. The remainder of the 90's and 2000's saw the two producer/MC's cementing their legacy in collaborations with equally big name artists, such as Pete Rock, Busta Rhymes, The X-Ecutioners, and Mobb Deep. Still on the Hustle, a culmination of ten years in utero, stands testament to the rich history, personal battles, and against-all-odds accomplishments that mark both mens' road to recording this soon-to-be classic album.
