The Album:
Metermaids know music fans have plenty of options when it comes to choosing what artists to support. And so, with that in mind, the Brooklyn-based duo of rappers Sentence and Swell, in celebrating this week's release of their new album, Rooftop Shake, are giving fans the chance to stream their full album on Soundcloud.
The album, released via Strange Famous Records, is the culmination of months of work, dating back to Metermaids' signing with Sage Francis' Strange Famous Records after the artists toured together and the up-and-coming duo earned the attention and admiration of the indie heavyweight. Metermaids hit the studio shortly after, working with Grammy Award-winning producer 9th Wonder, who produced five of the album's 10 tracks, while long-time collaborator M.Stine handled production on the rest of the album. 9th Wonder also appears on two tracks, joining Buck 65 and Sage as the only guest emcees on the project, while DJ Rob Swift of the legendary X-Ecutioners crew provides cuts throughout.
While Rooftop Shake is now available for sale at all digital retailers, Metermaids and Strange Famous Records are also giving fans the opportunity to purchase a signed CD and limited edition t-shirt through the Strange Famous Records online store.

Metermaids, a Brooklyn-based duo consisting of emcees Sentence and Swell, often refer to themselves as "the Bad News Bears of hip-hop." However, after teaming up with the X-Ecutioners DJ Rob Swift, receiving production from Grammy Award Winner 9th Wonder, and pulling in vocal contributions from indie-hop legends Sage Francis & Buck 65, their Rooftop Shake LP is ready to turn that self-deprecation on its head.
