Two New Leaks Show Off L.E.P.'s Work Ethic, Foreshadow Summer Plans
The EP:
L.E.P. Bogus Boys continually prove themselves as one of the hardest working groups in hip-hop, and to further drive that point home, today, the Chicago duo of Count & Moonie are releasing not only their collaborative remix EP with The Hood Internet, but also the CDQ clean version of the "Kush & Leather (Remix)" featuring Rick Ross.
The EP, titled L.E.P. Bogus Boys vs. The Hood Internet, came together when TEHO Media introduced the two Chicago groups to each other's music. "We always are down to put on for Chicago," says The Hood Internet, while L.E.P. notes a mutual respect, saying the EP will help to bridge the varied artistic communities throughout the city. "All cultures are accepting our sound," note L.E.P., "and we figured with the new sound that The Hood Internet is on, this was a perfect opportunity."
While The Hood Internet EP does well to show off L.E.P.'s range – the duo's rough and tumble vocals sound remarkably good atop production sampling warbled dubstep and washed out synth chops – the "Kush & Leather (Remix)" does just as well to recertify L.E.P. as one of the most exciting groups making street rap. The song, which leaked in low quality some time ago, is now available as a clean version in CDQ format, and with Count taking the first verse and Moonie taking the third, Rick Ross joins them on the track's second verse for a song that fans should get used to hearing all summer long.

The Background:
The L.E.P. Bogus Boys, comprised of emcees Count and Moonie, first garnered attention with independent releases Gang Bang Muzik and their Don't Feed Da Killaz mixtape series. The third installment in that series, released Halloween 2010, brought the Southside Chicago duo their first taste of national acclaim, with write-up's from MTV News, XXL Magazine, The Source, and more, along with video rotation on MTV Jams and BET. A year later, on Halloween 2011, L.E.P. returned with their latest effort, the DJ Green Lantern-hosted Now Or Neva, which is available for free download through L.E.P.'s website. In early 2012, the mixtape will receive a non-DJ re-release at retail, with a collection of added songs that feature Rick Ross, Bun B, Mobb Deep, 2 Chainz, and more.
