The first remix comes from legendary New York club DJ, Johnny Vicious, whose collaboration with Kristine W, "Fade," currently holds the #1 spot on Billboard's Dance Chart. Johnny gives the party anthem his signature treatment, transforming it into an instant club hit. "I felt the energy from Krista's vocals and knew that if I found the right sounds and patterns and kept the energy level up in the dance version that it would be perfect for a remix," explains Johnny.

The Background:
Just like her mashed-up upbringing, the product of a Puerto Rican father and Italian mother, Krista's music is an amalgamation of sounds. Her neighborhood of Sunset Park, Brooklyn both embraced and alienated Krista's mixed-race heritage. "Growing up in my neighborhood was very hard," Krista explains, "But all the bulls**t around me was what I knew I didn't want to be. I used is as a springboard to try and do everything right." Krista is equally inspired by the confident mindsets of early female MC's Salt-n-Pepa and Queen Latifa as she is by the escapist rock of Paramore and Linkin Park and the angelic voices of Alicia Keys and Sarah McLachlan. One moment Krista displays her harder, street savvy side as an MC and the next, she can sing sweetly about love, alienation, and suffering, often on the same song.
Following a busy year of promoting her debut album Taking Back Brooklyn (J Records) and opening up for Kelly Clarkson's tour, Krista is now back in the studio writing and recording for the new record due out the first quarter of next year, working with the team who crafted her first album, as well as superstar writers like Claude Kelly, who co-wrote "Hypnotized." The video for "Hypnotized" can now be seen on MTV.com, MTV Hits, Music Choice, and LOGO.
