The Song:
If Knobody's Tha Clean Up were an independent state instead of an album, "On My Job" would be a likely choice for national anthem. From its rallying, pounding piano chords to a second verse with enough internal rhyme and assonance for three rappers, "On My Job" showcases Knobody as "the alpha spitter" ("every verse I spit out's a hitter"). "I try to follow his lead," says Knobody of production by Da Beathoven, "with verses that are serious in content, but also light-hearted and entertaining." Mark your scorecards, folks: that's four more RBIs for Hiero Imperium's latest addition.
The Background:
Since the age of 16, Knobody has been busy developing his unique blend of rhyme and spoken word (coined as “Rappetry’) to become one of the most recognized young emcees in the Bay Area hip-hop scene. In 2006, Knobody was signed to Hiero Imperium Records and was announced as the first signing to their new Triple i League - Hiero’s version of a Major League Baseball farm team. With his already polished lyrical skills, and the business know-how of Hiero behind him, Tha Clean Up aims to do what a clean-up hitter does on a baseball team: smack some balls out of the park.
