	Kid Static Drops New Single With It Gleams On The Horizon For June 5th

The Song: In just a few short weeks, on June 1st, Kid Static will release his latest solo effort, *It Gleams, via Cobra Music. In the last two months, since announcing the album, the Los-Angeles-via-Chicago rapper has given fans a few teasers from the album – the streetwear-themed banger "T-Shirts & Sneakers,"* the mesmerizing visual that accompanies "Moonlight" – and now, Static is excited to release the third official single from It Gleams, "Rocks & Toothpicks." Despite having the beat for a while, "Rocks & Toothpicks" manifested for Static after one tumultuous night in Chicago. “Circumstances and alcohol got out of control, and I ended up in a fight late night,” says Kid Static. “I woke up the next morning with a sick hangover and these lyrics.” My Old Kentucky Blog , which premiered “Rocks & Toothpicks” today, describes the song as, “a skittering warning to all fronters on the frontier,” complete with violent, rapid-fire lyrics and a menacing electro-handclap beat that Static cooked up himself. Amid all the angst, Kid Static managed to extract something meaningful from the song’s inspiration. “Fighting is fun when you win," he says. "Don’t be stupid and lose fights." In addition to “Rocks & Toothpicks,” Static is also releasing a new webisode that includes show footage from his Chicago performance at Cobra Lounge, and some insight into his creative process.
