The Video:

Throw together Kam Moye, Jern Eye, Tunji, Evangelist a couple of MPC’s and a guitar and only good things can happen. This improv freestyle collaboration has tracks laid down by producers Cook Classics and Keelay of production duo Keelay & Zaire and Nate Mercereau on guitar. Impromptu sessions like this are just another example of how strong, versatile, and fun hip-hop can be when you gather a handful of talented emcees and musicians in a room together and let them do what they do best. The flow exhibited lets you know that these guys are grinding hard, but always having fun. With the handful of rappers present at the jam session overflowing with talent, it may be Kam Moye who shines the brightest as he raps, “I’m still pressing up albums / And keep women friends who could be twins with Jessica Alba.” As each emcee spits on a different topic, showing off enormous diversity in style, the one consistent theme throughout the video is clear: dope music. Jern Eye's Vision and Kam Moye's Splitting Image will be available October 13th and October 27th respectively via MYX Music Label.

The Background:

Los Angeles native Jern Eye began crafting his skills early on at freestyle battles in famous L.A. clubs. Jern formed the staple west coast group, Lunar Heights, with friend and fellow emcee Spear Of The Nation shortly after high school, and the group eventually migrated north to Oakland to join the Bay Area's flourishing independent hip-hop scene. Once in the Bay, the group was joined by Khai Sharrieff as they began making a name for themselves opening for a number of well known groups, including Crown City Rockers, The Pharcyde, The Procussions, and more. The group subsequently released their solo effort, Crescent Moon, to high acclaim. Jern followed three years later with his solo debut, Authentic Vintage, in 2006, and toured with Hieroglyphics and Living Legends as a result of the album's success. Jern Eye's sophomore album, Vision, features production from !llmind, Jake One, Keelay & Zaire, DJ Vinroc, Def Supreme, Phil Jahns, and Artek, and collaborations with artists Cali Agents, Mistah F.A.B., Zion I, Guilty Simpson, Nightclubber Lang, and more looks to make the case for Jern's upward movement as a legitimate hip-hop talent on a national level. Vision will be available October 13th via MYX Music Label.

Kam Moye recorded two critically acclaimed albums and three EPs under the name of Supastition for labels Soulspazm Records and Rawkus Records. As Supastition, Kam has appeared on songs alongside well-respected artists such as KRS One, Little Brother, Royce the 5'9, Stoupe (Jedi Mind Tricks), Rhymefest, Elzhi, Bahamadia, Cunninlynguists, Akrobatik, and many others. In 2008, he chose to officially begin releasing music under his given name of Kam Moye instead of his rap alias. Kam released a free EP, Self-Centered, in June 2008, which received over 4000 downloads in less than 24 hours. His outspoken music video, "Black Enough?", garnered serious attention shortly after its release. His first full-length under the name Kam Moye, Splitting Image, is due out October 27 via MYX Music Label.
