(September 28, 2012 – Brooklyn, NY) Bad Cop, the Nashvillian southern-fried psych-rock band, is gearing up for a string of east coast performances this October. Fresh off a tour supporting Cage The Elephant, the band is also excited to announce a new EP they’ve just finished recording with CTE guitarist Brad Shultz, slated for release early in 2013.

Following the release of Bad Cop and Turbo Fruit’s split 7” release this past July, Bad Cop has been busy touring with Cage The Elephant, as well as working on their currently untitled EP. Their 7” single “Wet Lips” provided the soundtrack for Surfing Magazine’s official video trailer for The 2012 New York Surf Film Festival this past month. Bad Cop frontman Adam Moult and bassist Mike Gicz were also busy co-running Jeffery Drag Records with R.J. Jennings, and signing new artists like Western Medicine and Majestico to the Nashville-based imprint.

Bad Cop will be joined by a variety of JDR labelmates for their upcoming shows, with many of the stops being in New York City for the 2012 CMJ Music Festival. After the guys kick off the tour in Knoxville, TN, festivalgoers can catch Bad Cap at the Audible Treats, French Kiss, Yamaha and Fuzz NYC showcases around NYC.

To give you a taste of what you can expect from Bad Cop live, here’s a short tour video from their time in New Orleans, where they performed at sold-out 4-20 show with Curren$y, Smoke DZA, and Cage The Elephant:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8JXeB8O99A

The Background:

Bad Cop, from Nashville, TN, is made up of the things that make all great rock bands the way they are: tight musicianship, remarkable songwriting, and above all, the ability to pull together a performance that makes you believe whatever frontman Adam Moult tells you. Adam wrote his first songs while incarcerated at an “alternative to prison” boarding school in the mountains of Georgia for two years, and formed Bad Cop the moment he was able to return home. Following a string of demos, a rearranging of the band’s members, and the full-length Harvest The Beast (released on NYC’s ROIR Records in 2010), Bad Cop released a split 7” this past summer with Turbo Fruits via Nashville-based imprint Jeffery Drag Records. The path they’ve ended up taking has opened up Bad Cop to new possibilities and solid friends, like Cage the Elephant, who handpicked Bad Cop to support them on their 2012 tour, and whose guitarist Brad Schultz wound up liking the band enough to produce their upcoming EP, which is due for release in late 2012.

Jeffery Drag Records was formed in early 2009 by Adam Moult, frontman of Nashville based band Bad Cop. The label was originally founded to release limited pressings of cassettes and vinyl for Bad Cop and other various acts including The Hussy, Pujol, and Little Viking. In 2011, Bad Cop bass player Mike Gicz joined the Jeffery Drag team, overseeing cassette releases from Ranch Ghost, Electric Dollhouse Groovebuggy, and Majestico. The third and final member of Jeffery Drag is R.J. Jennings. The label has grown tremendously, adding Natural Child, Useless Eaters, and Ghost Dance to the roster. Jeffery Drag Records is continuing to grow on a daily basis and has quickly become a name brand for groundbreaking rock and roll music in Nashville and across the country.
