The EP:
The time has arrived for Jack Davey to release her pièce de résistance, L0-F! D'Lux, the culmination of her journey into a solo rock career. Jack has ventured far from her electro-soul roots as frontwoman of J*DaVeY to create a three-part EP of grungy, lo-fidelity rock ‘n' roll, with D'Lux as the third and final installment. L0-F! D'Lux is available for on iTunes, and will be streaming for free on AOL Spinner's Listening Party for the rest of the week.
Jack Davey's exploration of a radical new sound was triggered when she realized that she and J*DaVeY partner Brook D'Leau were going in two different directions. In 2011, after they released New Designer Drug, Brook signed on to tour with Miguel, while Jack gave birth to her firstborn son. Newfound motherhood could not keep her from creating, however, so she furnished the closet in her Los Angeles apartment with recording equipment and set out to record a DIY homage to Nirvana, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop, appropriately called L0-F!.
The L0-F! trilogy began with the release of L0-F! Side A, a gritty, frenetic collection of Jack's own lyrics and compositions, most of which derived from a drum machine, her signature sultry vocals, and her self-taught guitar skills. This was followed soon after by L0-F! Side B, which featured further instrumentation and sound experimentation produced by her boyfriend, Joey Strat of The Knux. D'Lux is the marriage of both Side A and Side B, along with three brand new bonus songs and an interactive digi-book with music videos and quirky scenes from Jack's vlog; the EP itself comes with the 13 tracks, and the digi-book is available as an e-book separately.

The Background:
Jack Davey, one half of hybrid electronic-soul duo J*DaVeY, is at the forefront of a reaction against the over-produced pop artists of today. Some of her professional milestones include opening for Prince, the Roots, Erykah Badu and Janelle Monáe, as well as licensing music to CSI: NY and Nike Latin America; J*DaVeY was also featured as LA Weekly's Beautiful People cover story in 2011. Jack's rise into the role of solo artist grew out of a period of artistic stagnation, coupled with the birth of her first child and the imperative to bring to light the new, raw sound playing in her head. The constantly evolving Davey picked up the skills necessary to express her dynamic vision, learning to play guitar so she could convey her intentions in a solo format with her new double EP L0-F!. For L0-F! Side A, Jack summons up kindred spirit Iggy Pop, and intertwined with it, her bluesy, confident voice declaring a new, stripped down incarnation of the artist herself and an era of straightforward rock. Side B includes further instrumentation and is produced by her boyfriend, Joey Strat of The Knux. L0-F! Side A was released October 2nd, Side B on November 6th, and a D'Lux edition including both EP's, three new songs, and a digital booklet was just released on December 11th.
