Since Jack Davey released L0-F! Side A, the first half of her three-part solo project last week, the eclectic J*DaVeY frontwoman has shown her evolution as an artist. Previous singles from the EP, such as "Howl At The Moon" and "Eye Can See," have proven her ability to impart and express herself in new mediums, specifically teaching herself to play her Squire Strat while taking care of her newborn baby. Now, while she anticipates the release of Side B on November 6th, she is unveiling her latest music video for the Side A single "Ride On."
Biker gangs, especially the infamous Hell's Angels, are ingrained in American rock 'n' roll culture, and Jack channels that badass, all-leather-everything vibe that the H.A. personify in the song "Ride On." Joey Strat, half of The Knux, producer of Side B, and Jack's boyfriend, compiled the amazing vintage footage of the "81" vest-laden motorcycle enthusiasts to embody the anonymous rebel Jack refers to in the song.
"I love that this Easy Rider style is coming back - black leather, custom cuts, beat up denim & heavy metal," says Jack, who is equally enamored with biker culture as she is with their fashion. "More and more of my friends are riders now so I wanted to create something for them to vibe out to." Sadly, the fast-paced life of a biker sometimes ends quicker than expected, which also inspired Jack to write "Ride On." "This song and video are in honor of my fallen brother Chris Edwards," says Jack. "May his spirit forever ride on."

The Background:
Jack Davey, one half of hybrid electronic-soul duo J*DaVeY, is at the forefront of a reaction against the over-produced pop artists of today. Some of her professional milestones include opening for Prince, the Roots, Erykah Badu and Janelle Monáe, as well as licensing music to CSI: NY and Nike Latin America; J*DaVeY was also featured as LA Weekly’s Beautiful People cover story in 2011. Jack’s rise into the role of solo artist grew out of a period of artistic stagnation, coupled with the birth of her first child and the imperative to bring to light the new, raw sound playing in her head. The constantly evolving Davey picked up the skills necessary to express her dynamic vision, learning to play guitar so she could convey her intentions in a solo format with her new double EP L0-F!. For L0-F! Side A, Jack summons up kindred spirit Iggy Pop, and intertwined with it, her bluesy, confident voice declaring a new, stripped down incarnation of the artist herself and an era of straightforward rock.
