1st quarter has officially picked up; the schedule for booking interviews is in full effect! Huey, creator of the hit song, "Pop, Lock, & Drop It," is ready to take care of more phone interviews. I'm looking to book interviews early next week. If you are interested, please reply ASAP.
Huey is the originator behind the newest dance craze to monopolize YouTube's bandwidth. His song, "Pop, Lock, & Drop It" has been a hit in his hometown of St. Louis for some time but it's only recently that the dance frenzy has caught on outside the Missouri area, thanks in part to heavy rotation on the radio and on MTV and BET. The video, which features the dance move, is a fun play on the movie Ferris Beuller's Day Off, in which Huey falls asleep at his desk at school and dreams about a life full of street parties, lavender Cadillacs, and dancing with girls, only to be woken up abruptly by his teacher and brought back to reality.
Alongside "Chicken Noodle Soup," "Chain Hang Low," and "Walk It Out, " the "Pop, Lock, & Drop It" dance move is the newest addition to the surge of dance-move oriented songs that have recently surfaced. So what IS this dance, exactly? (I know I'm gonna get a lot of sh*t for this one but…) The best way I can describe it is this: "Combine 2 parts "butterfly" and 1 part "getting your eagle on." Mix. Also noteworthy is the song's inclusion in an upcoming movie's soundtrack - Stomp The Yard. The movie, which features Ne-Yo and Chris Brown, is based on a national stepping competition. When asked, "What kind of music are kids stepping to," Executive Soundtrack Producer Jonathan McHugh immediately thought of Huey's "Pop, Lock, and Drop It." The movie comes out this Friday.
Armed with a hit song and a popular dance move, Huey is excited to prep for the debut of his solo album Notebook Paper, which comes out soon. Phoners are being scheduled for early next week. Please reply ASAP if interested.
