(December 8, 2008 - Brooklyn, NY) As the legendary Knitting Factory readies to pack its bags and move across the river to Williamsburg, the venue has put together an impressive calendar of hip-hop shows to close out their renowned run in Manhattan. For one night only the legendary Oakland hip-hop collective Souls of Mischief will join East Coasters Tanya Morgan, AOK Collective, Uncle Ralph McDaniels, Rob Flow and DJ Synapse for a historic night of hip-hop history. The show will take place on Tuesday Dec 16th at 8pm. Souls of Mischief cemented their place among hip-hop's all-time greats when they released their classic album 93 'til Infinity in 1993. The album has since been named one of the Top 100 Rap Albums by The Source magazine and sparked notable solo careers for many of the collective's members. Their long awaited new album produced entirely by Prince Paul will be released in early 2009. In 2003, Brooklyn resident Von Pea teamed up with Cincinnati's Donwill and Ilyas to form Tanya Morgan. Three years later, the group's Moonlighting LP took the rap world by storm, receiving a 3.5 mic rating from The Source and high praise in XXL's Chairman's Choice column. After a brief hiatus from center stage, the crew returned in 2008 with the release of their mixtape Tanya Morgan is A Rap Group and critically acclaimed EP The Bridge. Their upcoming full-length album Brooklynati will be released in 2009.
