Critical Praise:

"At first blush, there’s something almost grating about New York-via-Allentown duo Headless Horseman — the music’s warped, claustrophobic, Chimpmunk-y, sorta strange. After you let it sink in for a few seconds, it’s also sharp, smart, and full of unavoidable hooks... there is something shadowy and haunted about their approach "[Band to Watch, November] . - Stereogum

"The opening song on this, yup, five-track EP, is a glitch-pop surge paralleling the giddier side of Broken Social Scene. From there, it goes into an acid-washed ballad with atmospheric whooshes, as if Woods were prone to playing lullabies. " [The Eight Best Brooklyn Records You Probably Didn't Hear, from the Best of 2010 issue, December] - L Magazine

"Judging from Headless Horseman’s breadth of sound and a new track, Fareed Sajan and Conner O’Neill have the potential and ambition to become infamous in their own right. " - NY Press

The Songs:

After first touching down with the compilation 5 songs last year, the NY-via-Allentown duo Headless Horseman comprised of Fareed Sajan and Conner O'Neill - who have been praised as being a "Band to Watch" by Stereogum and an Honorable Mention in L Magazine's "8 Band You Need To Hear" - return with a pair of surreal remixes that both effortlessly transcend time, space and any other constraints in trademark fashion.

First up, is a song entitled "Handstands", which is a remix of Chairlift's "Bruises" that cleverly segways into The Chordettes classic "Mr. Sandman" midway through. Stuttering electronic percussion backed by lilting keys create a sense of euphoria that swiftly comes crashing down once "Mr. Sandman" kicks in, truly emphasizing the dream-like state of mind created.

While on "Jailbait", a remix of contemporary French songstress Etyl's "J’ME FAIS MAL”, Headless Horseman turn this heartbreaking tale into a disorientating and mind-bending experience, largely through eerie vocal manipulation, and antiquated recording equipment.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Headless Horseman's debut EP later this year.
