The Album: With spring now upon us, 2012 has already been a successful year for Fatal Lucciauno. First, the Seattle rapper released a free EP, The Message, with producer Jake One, a project he followed just a few short weeks later with the release of his official sophomore album, Respect. And with that LP now for sale via Sportn' Life Records, Fatal, as a thank you to all of his fans, has decided to give his debut album away as a free download. The album, The Only Forgotten Son, will be downloadable through Fatal's Bandcamp and will be available for one week. Released in 2007, The Only Forgotten Son includes production from Vitamin D, D.Black, Kuddie Fresh, and BeanOne, to name a few. The album has since been hailed as a regional classic, and caught national attention, too, making its way into URB Magazine's NEXT 1,000. For Fatal, giving the album away for free is a way to let knew fans catch up. "A lot of times when new fans first find an artist, there's a sense of disconnect, because of the hype," explains Fatal. "They need to know me before they can love me." And Fatal is confident that once fans give his debut a listen, they'll have no other choice but to love him, given the personal nature of the album. "The Only Forgotten Son is my life story, really," he notes. "It's the anger, the harsh content, and the humanity of a young man stuck in a dark world, but smart enough to know he needs to change his surroundings.
