The Video:
Earlier this year, Double A.B. & Dub Sonata released their album Media Shower. The project, released via Man Bites Dog Records, includes features from Evidence, Roc Marciano, Sean Price, and more. But most of all, Media Shower, and Double A.B. & Dub Sonata with it, harkens back to an earlier era, an era of soulful chops and concentrated lyricism, and in looking back towards that era, perhaps no song is more fitting than "Sunset," a world-weary track that features Cannibal Ox, a duo that served as true underground stars of that once-forgotten but now resurgent time.
Today, Double A.B. & Dub Sonata are releasing the video for "Sunset" – the song also features singer David Kiss – and as the title implies, the visual is replete with time-lapsed cityscapes that meld perfectly against A.B.'s vocals.
Also of note, although the video is just coming out in December, the clip was filmed some months back, before Hurricane Sandy impacted along the eastern seaboard. As such, the video, shot in Coney Island, Brooklyn, one of the New York City neighborhoods hit hardest by the storm, offers a unique look back at what the waterfront looked like just a few short months ago, before the storm devastation.
There is still a lot of work and recovery to be done in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. For those who can help, please consider donating to one of the following organizations:

The
Background:
New York City rapper Double A.B. first garnered attention in the late '90s, as a teenager, when his demo was discovered by Blaze Magazine. The publication was so impressed with A.B.'s music that it quickly entered the rap upstart into its popular Blaze Battle, and while Double A.B. entered as an unknown, he left, burgeoning career underway, as one of four semi-finalists in the battle. A.B. continued his battle dominance, taking part in a number of national television competitions on MTV, before switching modes and leaving the battle circuit in order to focus on his music full-time. Since then, Double A.B. has released two albums, New York Minute and The Diesel, and has collaborated with the likes of Vast Aire, Scram Jones, and others. He's also stayed busy on the road, touring with artists including the GZA, Cannibal Ox, eLZhi, and C-Rayz Walz. Now, on September 18th, Double A.B. is teaming up again with producer Dub Sonata -- the two first collaborated on Double A.B.'s album The Diesel -- and together the rapper and producer pair have released a new album, Media Shower via Man Bites Dog Records. In addition to Roc Marciano, who is featured on lead single "Lord Knows What," Media Showers includes features from Sean Price, Rhymefest, Cannibal Ox, Evidence, and others.
