Last week, Dark Time Sunshine released their sophomore album, ANX. The album, which includes features from Aesop Rock, P.O.S. (of Doomtree), Busdriver, and more, has been hailed by outlets such as Complex.com, MTV Hive, OkayPlayer.com, PotholesInMyBlog.com, and more, while SomeKindOfAwesome.com recently called ANX the duo's best work yet, and Shut Your Fucking Face And Listen gave the album a perfect rating. Today, the duo of Onry Ozzborn and Zavala are releasing the debut video from ANX, for the single Never Cry Wolf.
The song features singer Reva DeVito, and pulls its inspiration from a previous song that Dark Time Sunshine released called "Shewolf." "'Shewolf’ was a warning that women all around the world have a dark side, and at times will play with your emotions if you let them," explains Onry Ozzborn. "'Never Cry Wolf' is about one of those girls, as she comes to the realization that the man she's spent so long tempting is, in fact, the one for her." But by then, explains Dark Time Sunshine, it's too late – the man of her desires is no longer interested.
The video is directed by Stephan Gray, beautifully shot and set in the deep woods, with Onry, Zavala, and Reva surrounded by lush trees and striking scenery. The visual follows the tone of the song, opening with Reva elusive amidst dense trees and hanging sheets as Onry follows in pursuit. By the end of the video, though, he's given up, just as Reva turns in search of him. "He's no longer having it," says Onry of the song's protagonist, "he's done being vulnerable."

The Background:
Dark Time Sunshine is comprised of Onry Ozzborn of Grayskul (Rhymesayers) and producer Zavala. The partnership culminated in December 2009 with Dark Time Sunshine's Believeyoume, a nine song EP, released as a free download and limited CD from Fake Four Inc. In April 2010 Dark Time Sunshine released their first full-length LP, the acclaimed Vessel. With two superb releases and extensive touring in the U.S. with the likes of Sole and the Skyrider Band, AWOL One, Pigeon John, and DJ Abilities, Dark Time Sunshine quickly became an indie favorite and Vessel became one of the most well receieved hip hop albums of 2010. Dark Time Sunshine released Cornucopia, an EP of released material, for their Fall 2010 Make A Darwish tour.
