The entire crew of Audible Treats wants to thank everyone who came up to be part of their inaugural CMJ showcase last week. Over the course of five hours, hosts Wyatt Cenac from The Daily Show and rapper Che Grand and house DJ Keelay helped facilitate a total of eight performing acts who performed hits and debuted new material to a packed house of over 400 fans. In all sense of the word, the showcase was considered a success. Says Audible Treats President, Michelle McDevitt, "Thanks to the effort of my amazing team and the help of everyone involved from the artists to the great staff at Southpaw, we produced one of the most memorable CMJ showcases of this year. I couldn’t have asked for a better crowd; all the artists commented on how hype the fans were."

Adds performer Finale, "That showcase was like an ol’ rapper family reunion; it was good to be able to see everyone in one place. Throughout the night, we were keeping tabs on each other's performances. Other rappers kept coming backstage to report on what they were able to eavesdrop from the crowd. After my set, they reported the crowd saying, "Yo, Finale killed it!" and after Oddisee performed, they’d report that they crowd said, "Oddisee was amazing!" Everyone was keeping tally backstage on some friendly shit."

Next up: the Audible Treats SXSW 2010 showcase coming this March.
