(October 29, 2010 - Brooklyn, NY) Another year, another CMJ. The entire Audible Treats team would like to thank everyone who came out and showed immense support for our second annual Audible Treats CMJ showcase this past Thursday. Comedian Damien Lemon hosted the entire six-hour event and effortlessly kept the house in stitches between sets with jokes and goodie bag giveaways. Throughout the night, several special guests helped pack the house at Sullivan Hall, including Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg, actor J.D. Williams("Bodie") from The Wire, Psalm One, Torae, and many more.

Detroit trio The Left kicked off the show, followed by Houston's The Niceguys, and then San Francisco's DaVinci. Moe Green then took the stage with surprise guest and labelmate TRUTHLiVE, before the legendary Chip Fu of The Fu-Schnickens made his way into the crowd, blowing away the crowd with his rapidfire rhymes atop his signature alloy of hip-hop and reggae. Donwill lent a helping hand for Von Pea's set, who was followed by Little Brother's Big Pooh and The Hall of Justus, all donning matching shirts and ties. The biggest surprise of the evening followed, with a shoeless Asher Roth joining Nottz and partner-in-rhyme Derek32Zero for a handful of tracks as they celebrated the release of Nottz' You Need This Music, before turning the stage over to Dirty Harriet, aka Rah Digga, who blazed through tracks from her recently released Classic. Diamond District and Black Sheep, two of hip-hop's finest and most consistent live acts, closed out the amazing evening.

One telltale sign of a good concert is when the artists themselves enjoy the show as much as the audience. If Von Pea's experience is indicative of the quality of the show, it's clear that the showcase was a night to remember. "The AT showcase had a crowd full of music lovers and you could tell by response alone," he explained. "New York crowds have a rep of playing it cool but not at that showcase. I feel like it was an ideal experience, both as a fan and as a performer." Rah Digga's impression of the crowd echoed that of Von Pea and, for her, was a warm "welcome back." "Having been away from the music scene for so long it was exciting to see how much the fans have missed me and it made me realize how much I've missed them," she explained.
