The song:

Bronx native Butta Verses spreads the smooth on thick with his new single "Jones In Ya Bones," featuring Lucien off his upcoming album Six Minutes to Ten. His production template is made to match, with shuffly, organic drums and wah-wah synths.  Vocals and production by Marco Polo come together to give you some soulful gamespitting.

The background:

Butta Verses, a Bronx-bred rapper who now calls Fort Lauderdale, Florida home, made his debut appearance on De La Soul's 2004 release The Grind Date spitting back to back with Posdonus on the song "No." Today, Butta is wrapping up his follow-up album, Six Minutes To Ten, with guests such as CL Smooth, and A-Butta of Natural Elements with production help from The Mighty V.I.C. and Tzarizm among others.

The song:

New York MC Black Attack reintroduces himself as rap superhero "Black Man," on his latest release that has been burning up the underground charts. Cocky and amiable vocals combined with genial, rumbling beats conjure the loose aura of a street-corner sing-along. "You need somebody to rip a track? Call on 'Black Man!'" Production courtesy of V.I.C.

The background:

Black Attack first gained notoriety with the release of the now defunct Correct Records single "Holdin' It Down/Verbal Attack" feat. Problemz, which quickly became an underground classic, receiving radio spins nationwide and eventually getting played by Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex. Black Attack's witty, unorthodox flow caught the attention of former Beatnut Al Tariq aka Fasion as well as V.I.C. who quickly got Black involved in more projects.
