Veteran MC's Black Attack and Butta Verses release new new split single via 12" and digital downloads

(Brooklyn, NY, March 14, 2007) Black Attack's single, "Black Man," is a hypnotic song that takes the listener on a journey through Black's world as a veteran rapper.  The song, which was produced by V.I.C. (Nas, Big Pun, Kool G Rap, Rakim), has been burning up the underground charts and has already sold 3,000 ringtones with little promotion.

Butta Verses' single, which is entitled, "Jones In Ya Bones," is a soulful ditty about wanting the finer things in life, whether they be women, cuisine, fashion, etc. Butta explains, "I'm just a regular dude and I rhyme about everyday life.  My audience can relate to me on every level.  Maybe one day I'll have the hot cars and I'll rhyme about that."  The song features Lucien and is produced by Marco Polo (Masta Ace, Boot Camp Clik and Sadat X).  This infectious track has a smooth and effortless groove, which is bound to have everybody on the dance floor.

Butta, who now resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, made his debut on De La Soul's "No" from their 2004 release, The Grind Date.  De La's Maseo was so impressed with Butta's skills that he signed him to his Bear Mountain Entertainment label.  While working on his upcoming release, Butta traveled the world to help promote The Grind Date. Upon returning, he soon released his first recording, Brand Spankin, which was produced by Bean One and Vitamin D and featured his crew GCD (Glee Club Detention).  After leaving Maseo’s BME label, Butta began to focus on performing, sharing the stage with veterans like Wu Tang Clan, KRS-One, and Boot Camp Click, to name a few.  Butta also appeared on the ultra funky track "You Got It" on De La Soul's Mission Impossible mixtape.  Now, Butta is wrapping up his follow-up album, Six Minutes to Ten, which he says is a fusion of Detroit influenced hip-hop, soul, and rock.

Black Attack gained notoriety with the release of the now defunct Correct Records single "Holdin' It Down/Verbal Attack," which quickly became an underground classic, receiving radio spins nationwide and support from Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex.  Black Attack's witty, unorthodox flow caught the attention of former Beatnut member Al Tariq as well as super producer V.I.C. Black then signed a deal with Pentagon Entertainment but soon after the release of his first single, the CEO of Pentagon was murdered, leaving Black where he started; without a deal.  A lot has changed since then and now Black is coming back hard.  Black says, "The song, 'Black Man' is a reintroduction of myself. Superman could leap over buildings in a single bound, right? Well, Black Man can rip a track at the drop of a dime. It's all me and what I'm about."

The split singles "Black Man" and "Jones In Ya Bones" are available now via premier digital downloads sites and at your local record store on wax.
