	Remix Of Recent Dirty Pretty Things Single Features Big Time Guests

The Song: Big Pooh has conjured up a whopping new remix with some big names to go along with it. "They Say," the most recent single released from Pooh's upcoming album, Dirty Pretty Things, gets a once-over by producer Focus..., along with some stellar guest verses from two rappers who have spent much of their now legendary careers unjustly overshadowed, namely, Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest and T3 of Slum Village. "I wanted to do a remix that felt like when Pete Rock or DJ Premier used to remix records, give it a whole new feel," says Big Pooh. "As I was listening to the track and thinking about the message, I reached out to two legends from legendary groups who's contributions and skills may have also been overlooked." With Big Pooh's first verse untouched, the remix moves on to Phife's honest dialogue, sparring with the opinions of music fans who have may doubted his skills as a solo artist. T3, who closes out the track, offers his own scathing bars. For his part, Focus… doesn't disappoint, flipping the Cali-vibe of the original in favor of some classic horn chops of heavy drums, swapping out Choklate's singing in lieu of some sharp scratching that serves to keep things entertaining between verses. The Background: Rapper Big Pooh, former member of the highly respected and recently disbanded group Little Brother, has seen how much hip-hop and the business of music has changed over the years. He has ridden the music industry roller coaster since 2003, from receiving critical acclaim as indie darlings with Little Brother, to getting a taste of major label politics when they signed with Atlantic Records, to amicably leaving the group and recording his debut solo album, *Sleepers. With his newest solo project, Dirty Pretty Things, via his own For Members Only* label, Pooh strips away the smoke and mirrors and gives it to you raw. On the opening track, "Interdependent," Pooh touches on central themes that haunt the album, such as his uncertainty of what the future holds.
