The Mixtape:
To celebrate his birthday, Andre Nickatina is excited to release his latest mixtape, Where's My Money? The 18-track project shares its name with Andre's forthcoming nationwide tour, which kicks off in April and includes openers Fashawn and MUMBLS. The tape can be downloaded for free through Nickatina's website, where fans can also receive a free physical copy by purchasing a t-shirt from Nickatina's online store.
Just a few short weeks ago, when Nickatina announced the mixtape, he released two new songs, the Zapp & Roger-sampling "Tell Me She's A Hoe" and the "Rack City"-flipping "Bounce (Rack City)." The rest of the tape follows this format, a mix of original songs and unofficial freestyles featuring Nickatina's patented brand of brashness over a collection of boundary pushing production, handled mostly by Static Jon and Nima Fadavi. As for the message behind the music, it's really quite simple, according to Nickatina. "This is for the people, that know they owe people," he quips. "Where's my money?"
Before Andre heads out on tour, he'll be hitting Austin, Texas, this week for SXSW, and fans will have the opportunity to catch Andre performing tracks from the new mixtape, along with a collection of his classics this Thursday, March 15th, at Audible Treats' Third Annual Official SXSW Hip-Hop Showcase.
